There’s something special about transforming an already stunning supercar into something even more unique. At Assetti Performance, we recently had the pleasure of working on a Ferrari F8 Spider, enhancing its look with a full-body Stealth PPF. This high-quality paint protection film not only safeguards the paintwork but also gives the car a dramatic satin finish, turning its original gloss into a sleek, stealthy masterpiece.

Applying Stealth PPF is about having a meticulous attention to detail. We began by thoroughly preparing the F8 Spider, ensuring the surface was immaculate before application. Any imperfections in the paint would be locked in beneath the film, so meticulous decontamination ensuring no bits of dirt or fibres are left on the surface was key. Once the car was prepped, we moved on to the cutting and fitting stage.

Using XPEL’s Design Access Program (DAP), we precisely plotted each piece of film to fit the Ferrari’s intricate curves and aggressive lines. The DAP software allows us to customise the templates to ensure the best possible coverage while maintaining a seamless look. These patterns were then sent to our state-of-the-art plotter, which cut them with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring a perfect fit for every panel.

Once cut, the film was carefully applied using a wet installation, allowing us to manoeuvre each piece into place and remove any potential comnaminents as we go before squeegeeing out any excess solution and letting it ahere to the paint. Once a panel is fitted we wrapped the edges – a technique that ensures the original gloss paint is completely hidden beneath the satin film. This step is crucial in achieving a factory-like finish, making it almost impossible to tell the car wasn’t painted this way from new.

Every panel, vent, and curve of the F8 Spider received the same level of attention, ensuring no corner was overlooked. The result? A stunning satin finish that not only elevates the car’s aesthetic but also provides superior protection against stone chips, road debris, and the elements. With Stealth PPF, the Ferrari retains its striking presence while benefiting from a durable, easy-to-maintain surface.
