Defender 130 LED LIGHT UPGRADE

With winter fast approaching, a lot of Defender customers are adding additional lighting to their vehicle. Both for practical reasons and also because they vastly improve the aesthetic of the vehicle, especially when combined with a few other upgrades.

This Defender 130 arrived to us as a brand new vehicle with just 200 miles on the odometer. The customer had seen our upgrades prior to purchasing the car and decided to bring it straight to us. The brief from the customer was some extra lighting. Living in a rural area, with the winter time fast approaching he wants some extra power to light both the road ahead and behind him when reversing this rather long Defender 130.

One of the most popular upgrades at Assetti is our LED roof light pod. Fitted with 4 high powered LED lights in a gloss black streamlined housing which compliments the vehicle lines perfectly. Wired fully independently with no need for drilling off the roof, our LED roof light is operated by a wireless remote and very effective when used at night in combination with the factory high beam. The high mounting point of the roof light allows a flood of light to reach further than the headlights. This upgrade not only looks great, it makes winter driving easier and safer.

The next lighting upgrade was our popular replacement upper grill which has an integrated LED daytime running light. This illuminates on vehicle start with a light pulse which then changes to two solid lit strips offering a subtle light which helps modernise the front end of the Defender.

One complaint we get from Defender owners who live in darker areas is that it’s very difficult to use the reversing camera at night, due to the size and output of the factory fitted reverse lights. This can make it challenging to have confidence when parking your vehicle on darker nights. Our V4 LED reverse lights are a great solution for this issue. A full unit which sits in an existing void in the bumper and uses an independent piggy back wiring harness to take power from the rear lights.

As soon as reverse is selected these much bigger LED units illuminate to put out a massive beam on light which is picked up by the reverse camera making it much easier to see. They also have the added benefit of having integrated sweeping indicators also. This subtly upgrade totally transforms the look an usability of the Defender.
